Vegetarian Potluck, Everyone Welcome

I will be hosting the vegetarian potluck this month for the vegetarian society. It will be on the 16th of September starting at 6:15 at my house on 1380 Fernie Rd. If you can carpool with someone that would be great as there is limited parking. All you need to do is bring a dish with no meat in it.

The Vegetarian Society is an informal group of people who share a vegetarian meal once a month. There is no agenda, meetings, political talk etc. We just share a meal. Everyone is welcome to come so please pass this on to anyone you think might be interested. Yes, meat eaters are allowed (myself included) just leave the meat at home.

Hi Heidi:
I'm so glad to hear of your organization. My son became a vegetarian last year and I have struggled with finding the best foods for a teenager and for the life of me can not make tofu (failed 5 times). I have about 10 cookbooks now but have been hoping someone might offer a course thru Parks and Rec. I will try to make the meeting but if I can't, perhaps you could ask your group if someone is willing to teach?

Hope you come Jayne. People are always happy to share recipies at the get togethers. I think this will be our 5th or 6th meal together. Organization is a bit of a grand term. There isn't a member list or anything. Basically it is whoever shows up to the meal which is always a different set of people.

Sounds great! i particularly love the part about no meetings, agenda, organization..organizations are great in their place, it's just rather refreshing not to have to go that route. Jayne, Amrita Sondhi, on Bowen has taught cooking before thru the school continuing Ed., perhaps give them a call, maybe they'll offer something.
